Highlighting: OFF ON

Myles & Katharine Weiss

Dear friends,

Once again, the U.S. State Department is making a grandstanding display of power, requiring Israel to release 104 murderers and other criminals in order to convince Mahmoud Abbas to negotiate a peace agreement. Abbas is the same disciple of Yasser Arafat who financed the 1972 Munich massacre at the Olympics. He wrote his doctoral dissertation (at a Soviet school) on Holocaust denial. He is Israel’s “moderate” “peace partner.” Oy vey!

Could anything be more absurd? Putting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu through these paces is a painful exercise in futility. A “peace partner” label implies a fundamental willingness to accept each other’s right to exist. That should be the entrance requirement for sitting at the negotiating table. Instead, that criterion is consistently overlooked and Israel is pressured to concede: Either land, prisoner release, or settlement uprooting (read: community destruction) has become the recurrent basis for the talks.

Zionists are still waiting to hear that the Palestinian Authority (PA) has changed its fundamental charter and ceased calling for the destruction of Israel. How can one negotiate with radicals whose very existence is based on making the Middle East “Judenrein” (clean of Jews) from “the river to the sea?” That phrase is in the lexicon of everyday Arabic language and is even the refrain of a popular song on Arab radio!

Yet the charade and the posturing continue unabated. Speaking of posturing, all parties concerned spent almost four months discussing the size of the negotiating table. Meanwhile Syria unraveled in flames and chemical deaths, Hezbollah regrouped in Lebanon, al-Qaeda posed new threats, and Egypt’s military overthrew the Morsi regime!

Tzipi Livni, John Kerry, and Saeb Erekat negotiate “peace”

With nary a trace of irony, Tzipi Livni, Israel’s Minister of Justice and designated peace negotiator, stated, “Nothing is impossible for true believers.” Eric Hoffer published a sociological treatise in 1951, a classic psychological profile of the “true believer” who ignores all evidence and facts in order to retain some treasured point of view. Hoffer’s book uses Nazism and Stalinism as two examples. Perhaps Middle East “Peacism” should be added as an addendum to Mr. Hoffer’s writing—at least until the EU, Russia, the U.S., and the UN admit that Israel’s “partners” want them dead.

The political-world narrative continually casts Israel as the aggressor. In all my many years traveling to Israel, I consistently hear the heart cry of Israelis for peace. They simply want to be left alone to live and raise their families. I also hear very confidential reports of Arabs who do not want to live under a PA, Hamas, or Hezbollah regime. These Arabs are enjoying the democratic atmosphere of Israel. They do not happily anticipate life under sharia (Islamic law) in any of its various repressive configurations. They do not voice these sentiments in public. Sadly, I have to question their sincerity since they consistently vote for increasingly radical and militant anti-Zionist leaders.

American Indian: “Ask me… about ‘Land for Peace’”But I still hope in the Lord that enough residents of Judea and Samaria (the misnamed “West Bank”) will have supernatural encounters with Yeshua to turn the tide toward peace, which begins in the hearts of men. The Prince of Peace can change even the most virulent anti-Semite into a follower of the God of Abraham. Think of the Apostle Paul!

I find the deception involved in this faux peace process exasperating. It is so one-sided that it reminds me of a recent encounter in the Galilee. I met a tour guide who was sporting a T-shirt emblazoned with a Native American chief talking to Netanyahu.

The T-shirt’s drawing bore the caption, “Ask ME about land for peace.” I laughed, and the phrase stayed with me.

This last Shabbat (Sabbath), I saw a very sobering example of the thinking behind a land grab of any nature. My Miwok (Native American tribe) pastor friend, Ben, who has been to Israel twice with me, showed my son Jon and me a letter dated 1981. It was from the Bureau of Indian Affairs and written to Ben’s mother. It enclosed a check for less than $700 for a parcel of 1,440 acres in California. The government had divided the land into imaginary parcels and paid 48 cents per acre to all the former land-holding Native people they could identify.

Forty-eight cents per acre! The parallel to Israel is stunning. The Jewish people are the indigenous inhabitants of that land, with history, government, monetary system, archives, archaeology, and bloody sacrifice to retain or regain possession of it.

The power brokers of the world apparently want to uproot and relocate the prophetic pioneers who live there, and give it to adherents of an ideology that calls for the annihilation of the Jewish people. Seems like 48 cents per acre, doesn’t it? Such a mindset grossly undervalues the true meaning and purpose of the land and its people.

Myles, Katharine, and Rosemary team up for 30th!

So we press on. In the Levitt Letter news magazine and on our Holy Land tours and Bible-teaching TV programs, Katharine and I edify the masses and elevate the dialogue. We continue to bring lessons out of the narrative that Arafat began. This ministry uses all our power and resources given to us by faithful friends to turn the tide from lies to truth. New voices now echo the teachings of our 30-year history with Israel and broadcasting.

We ministry workers soldier on in this endeavor. It is a privilege to co-labor with you in this work.

Katharine and I are excited that our good friend Rosemary Schindler will join us on our Fall Tour of Israel with extensions to Greece and Petra (Zola Tours’ 30th Anniversary Tour!). When you tour with us, you receive the best Messianic guides, my pastoral teaching (with Katharine’s timely and pithy additions), and the reality of your role as a significant piece of the Kingdom puzzle. You experience a pilgrimage that is MUCH more than just a vacation. God will equip you to return to your sphere of influence as an advocate of His purposes on the Earth today.

Because seats are almost full, you need to call 214-696-9760 quickly to see if any places remain for the Fall Tour. Otherwise, please set your sights on one of the Spring 2014 Tour options:

Israel only: March 16–25
or
Israel & Petra: March 16–28.

We would be blessed to host you in the land of God’s covenants!

To whet your appetite, below are descriptions of our upcoming TV programs. In September, we complete our seven-part series from Future Congress 2, the Dallas prophecy conference held earlier this year.

A Messianic Perspective — Part 1 of 2
Speaking from the prophecy conference, Myles proclaims we are living in a day of restoration. Peter’s preaching at Pentecost transformed the world, and now the world is dividing into people of the Book and people NOT of the Book.
A Messianic Perspective — Part 2 of 2
Myles encourages using love rather than force to win hearts to Christ. Believing in Yeshua does not mean converting to a “religion” but rather repenting from sin and following God in a loving way.
Messianic Voices
From the Future Congress 2 prophecy conference, four Messianic leaders give personal testimonies: Robin Rose through the Jesus generation in the 1970s, Geoff Cohen growing up Orthodox in South Africa, Aharon Mendez being prayed for by believing parents, and Todd Baker moving from atheism to search for truth.
Three Friends of Israel
(The late) Jack Kinsella declares we are now living in the “time of the signs.” Journalist Bill Koenig shows the bias against Israel at the United Nations. Author Bill Salus foresees a coming Arab-Israeli war based on Psalm 83.

Following the Congress programs, you will be blessed by our encore presentation of The Holy Days of Our Lord. This is a classic Zola series with some fresh insights from Katharine and me. The first program is a general introduction, aptly titled:

Overview of the Holy Days
Myles and Katharine present an encore of this classic 11-part television series on the Seven Feasts of Israel. On the Mount of Olives, Zola summarized the seven festivals that the Lord established for the Chosen People in Leviticus 23. Dan Hendrickson explained how rabbinical Jews view each of the feasts.

As you can see, our hands, hearts, and “plates” are full. We need your help to continue to bring you and the multitudes these high-quality HD programs on location from Israel. Also, the “free” news magazine that we provide to anyone who requests it: We all know that it isn’t truly free; someone has to pay for the printing, postage, etc. to deliver this important publication beyond our core supporters—into prisons, homes, and even some churches where people hunger for news of God’s people and prophecy fulfillment.

If you can help bear this burden, please send a generous gift. By receiving this letter, you have already demonstrated a kinship with what we do. Please consider a fresh commitment and increase your giving at this time. This ministry plans some new programs from Israel’s heartland and timely interviews from Jerusalem. I will also be teaching about the significance of the Gates of Jerusalem, historically and prophetically. Watch the Levitt Letter for more information on this subject.

Would you kindly join in to help fund these efforts today? You will be glad you did: I have found that God always rewards me when I love what He loves and demonstrate that with my time, money, and energy.

Thank you for your commitment to God and to this ministry. Remember…Sha’alu Shalom Yerushalayim—Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem!

Your brother in the harvest field,
Myles
