September 1992 Personal Letter

Shalom, Dear Friend,

Preparations to rebuild the Temple continue. There’s always something new happening. Early this summer The Jerusalem Post printed an article about archaeologists uncovering a cache of incense in a dig near Kibbutz Almog on the Qumran Cliffs.

A Weizmann Institute chemist said he was 80% convinced that it is the pitum haketoret, the incense used in the Temple. “It passes all the preliminary tests — bulk density, pH, ash content and the acid reaction you would expect of the pitum haketoret,” said Marvin Antelman, chemical advisor at the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot. He also positively identified the karsina lye in the sample which is one of the 15 ingredients spelled out in the Talmud, the prime Jewish law book. Whether or not this discovery is the pitum haketoret used in Temple worship, reports such as this make “End Times” prophecies more relevant with each passing day!

Scripture teaches that the establishment of the modern state of Israel is God’s prophetic plan to return the unbelieving Jewish people to “the land” for the end times (Ezekiel 37). Israel is being prepared for the difficult events of the Tribulation and the glory of the Second Coming of our Lord and the Millennium. What is happening in modern Israel is the beginning of this prophetic fulfillment! And the rebuilding of the Third Temple is part of God’s plan.

You have a special interest and love for what God is doing in fulfilling His promise … but I’ve observed, most Christians do not understand they are personally involved in God’s plan for the end of the age. Sadly, their view of heaven is “something wonderful up there, living with Jesus and giving praise to God.” They do not realize that Israel, Eretz Yisrael, will be their home for a thousand years when Jesus Christ rules from the throne of David in Jerusalem during the Millennium.

God’s plan, His ultimate intention, is far greater than the self-centered view of too many believers. They tend to see no further than their daily needs. God is certainly interested in our daily needs but His plan is far greater. This is why, week after week and month after month, I teach, write and speak about God’s plan for the ages — and lead tours to Israel!

According to divine promise, God will intervene with finality. Not only will Israel return to “the land” but God will effect an ultimate “turning” of her captivity (Deuteronomy 30:3). It is Satan’s intent to keep this from happening. Satan is a defeated foe but, through the ages, he has continued to try to interfere with God’s plan. Satan seeks to destroy Israel before God fully completes His promise in Isaiah 59:20–21 and Romans 11:25–29. But one day —­ Israel will acknowledge Christ as Messiah and Deliverer!

Our fall television series, Israel, By Divine Right is based upon this truth and the rebuilding of the new Temple. In our upcoming series, I teach related prophetic Scripture and give the latest information regarding preparations being made for the new Temple and the reestablishment of the sacrificial system.

We’ve filmed scores of timely, “on location” interviews and personal commentary for the program. Israel, By Divine Right reinforces the truth that the Abrahamic Covenant is everlasting and that God will fulfill His promise to Israel. But there’s so much work to complete before the television series can air. We’ve not been able to tape our planned interviews with former Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, or Mayor of Jerusalem Teddy Kollek. We must go “on location” one more time.

Here is our situation — we’ve not had the finances to tie together the last segments to complete Israel, By Divine Right. The total cost for production will be in excess of $100,000 … and this does not include the purchase of television airtime. I need your help. Together — you and I have the opportunity to:

• Teach believers who do not fully understand God’s plan for Israel or Israel’s role in history.
• Assure believers who recognize the “signs of the end times” and anxiously await His return.
• Affirm Messianic Jews who wait for “Next Year.”
• Witness to Jews who have not met Messiah Yeshua.

I know you have a special interest in touching lives as I’ve listed above and I pray you’ll be able to help us in completing Israel, By Divine Right. I’m confident you will be thrilled with the series and blessed by knowing you helped make it possible!

You’ve heard me say it before … but it’s the truth! Your Bible will “come alive” when you’ve actually experienced His homeland. And can you imagine Christmas in the land of His birth?
