Dear Friends,

It’s the eve of my birthday and I have received a wonderful present from you! I had a stress test yesterday to determine the seriousness of my recent heart trouble and I am deeply grateful for all your intercessory prayers. I don’t know of anything else that could account for the excellent results of that test.

My worst fear when I went to the doctor’s office was that he would advise me to curtail my activities. I was prepared to argue that this is no time for those who love Israel to let down on their efforts. But instead, I had a perfect test, walking a respectable 11.5 minutes on the treadmill with only minor chest pain. That was mighty fine for a man with a gray beard and six bypasses. Looking back over the years, that test was as good as I had done previous to my heart trouble, and it will allow me to do my work normally.

And I am glad about that, because our new programs will take some energy! The upcoming year is bound to be the busiest we have ever had in our ministry. Israel is on the front page daily, I don’t have to tell you prophecy is marching on, and antisemitism is growing daily. In addition we have our usual four tours of Israel and Greece planned for 1994.

I know that many of you will start thinking up some sort of birthday present for me and I wish you wouldn’t. Frankly I am that proverbial man who has everything: I have my Messiah, I constantly behold Israel in person, and I don’t know why anyone would need anything else. What I would rather have you do is contribute to my favorite charity, Zola Levitt Ministries. Truly friends, the best gift of all is the means for us to do more of what we do best. We need to keep telling the truth about Israel, because almost no one else is. We need to keep explaining end times prophecy to a world on which the rains of the coming flood are already falling. And we need to proclaim our witness far and wide while there is still some daylight. As our Lord so eloquently warned us in two words, “Night cometh.”

Most of you will receive this letter just before the end of 1993. Your year-end gift will have the largest possible tax advantage for you and will help us at a most crucial time. Send me a birthday card with a gift for my favorite charity and you will see your money at work immediately! Thanks.

Seasons greetings and God bless you all.
