Highlighting: OFF ON

Dear Friends,

Since 1968, Americans have dialed 9-1-1 to alert police, fire, and emergency medical services. But beyond the emotion-laden exchanges between first responders and those in need, no other meaning was typically assigned to those three numbers.

As a peace officer, I respond to 9-1-1 calls. I hurry to get “on scene,” as we say, and I attend to urgent situations using my professional judgment. This is what police, firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics do!

Ironically, Islamic jihadists hijacked our emergency services on that very date nine years ago—9/11. They notified all Americans—in no uncertain terms—that terrorists were on a quest to take down the West. On 9/11, they commandeered commercial airplanes and smashed them into one of America’s preeminent financial symbols, killing thousands of innocent civilians in the process. Thus, they indelibly marked that moment for us.

Before, “9-1-1” had been designated as the number for resolving crises. The event on 9/11 signaled the collective American psyche that we have an unresolved crisis—and with hooligans we didn’t even know posed a problem.

On 9/11, our entire country was summoned to an emergency of epic and national proportions. We had to reflect on its nature and consider what an appropriate response might be. At first we were “up in arms;” then we “took up arms” by tracking down bin Laden’s al-Qaeda and taking the fight to the Middle East.

A decade later, our White House is occupied by an American president who makes overtures to Saudi royalty, gives apologetic speeches in Cairo, and pushes long-standing Israeli allies to the margins, castigating them for building on their own real estate.

9/11 was then. This is now.

The fact that the numbers 9-1-1 have taken on significance beyond a desperate call for help seems lost to New York City’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who argues in favor of putting an Islamic mosque smack dab at Ground Zero.

There already are hundreds of mosques in New York City and its immediate environs—and in our country on the whole. Despite there being well over 20,000 Islamic mosques in our freedom-loving, religion-accepting country, there are no churches or synagogues allowed in the Saudi Arabian peninsula, where this madness all began. Now some Muslims want to add insult to injury by building a mosque at the site where followers of Islam destroyed the World Trade Center.

New York’s mayor supports this; I do not—and am gearing up to protest against it!

Recently, I wrote a book, Making Our Peace with the Warriors of the Sand. The university-level book formally completed a series of three that deal with Islamic intrigue.

The first, The Iranian Menace in Jewish History and Prophecy considers Iranian, anti-Jewish invective and aggression, by an examination of historic and biblical reflections and prophetic applications.

The second book, Guns and Moses deals with use-of-force issues. It underscores that it’s biblical to fight to defend home and hearth. Thinking that an Israeli preemptive strike against Iranian nuclear capabilities was inevitable, I wanted to advocate the legitimacy of taking out Iran’s nuclear program. It made sense to put my argument in writing, figuring that Israel would invoke the world’s ire by authorizing just such a mission—with or without American approval. By proactively defending themselves, Israelis would be able to limit the threat imposed on them by Iran’s mullahs.

I’m not anti-Arab, so after the first two books, I wrote Making Our Peace with the Warriors of the Sand to distance myself from anti-Arab racists and to spell out my personal convictions. I tell you the history of these three books to impress upon you that this is a time to “draw a line in the sand.” Please let me explain.

Saudi Arabia is understandably sacred to Muslims. Their aging prophet wanted all Christians and Jews driven out of his homeland; so, in honor of his wishes, the “religion of peace” won’t allow churches or synagogues to occupy real estate on their estate.

We Jews and Christians respect that.

Well, we Americans regard Ground Zero with reverence. I consider it an unthinkable place to locate an Islamic shrine. And the particular one that is planned would cynically hark to Islamic triumphs over Christians because the Muslims plan to name the mosque at Ground Zero “Cordoba Mosque.”

Why that name? The appellation “Cordoba” holds significance for Muslims. It’s the city in southern Spain that recalls for Muslims the Islamic conquest of Christian Spain. It reminds anyone who knows history how the Islamic conquerors, at one time, turned Spain into a Muslim country.

So now we have Muslims in America on a quest to place a tribute to their conquest at Ground Zero, right in the middle of a piece of American real estate that became sacred by Muslim destruction of it.

Ironic, isn’t it?

Dr. Jim Garlow, an old and dear friend, addressed the issue of a mosque at Ground Zero when he gave a stellar interview on FOX News. I saw the interview and sent him a “way to go” pat on the back in an email. A few seconds later, Jim responded and asked me to participate with him by publicly opposing the Islamization of Ground Zero.

Not only did I jump at Jim’s invitation, I knew this team effort was something you’d want me to uphold as an extension of your values. Watch the video and see if you get the same feeling as I did, that now is the time to rise up, fight for Judeo-Christian values, and publicize the Muslim intentions.

This month on television Zola Levitt Presents will continue its reprisal of The Dark Prince: When The Devil Has His Day, our behind-the-scenes look at Evil’s workings at the ragged edge of human history. We know the fight we’re in, and that Evil will be uprooted when Christ returns. But it is good to review the Bible’s text regarding the devil, so we can recognize God’s plan at work. You can get channels and airing schedules at www.levitt.com. Then join us for the following programs in September:

Satan’s Rise and Demise In Genesis
This series opener discusses Satan’s emergence and God’s plan to crush him when Satan arises to rule the world at the dusk of human history.

Satan In Biblical History
This program pays attention to biblical history’s bookends: the paradise lost story in Genesis, and the paradise restored story in Revelation.

The Ruler of This World
Isaiah describes the “ruler of this world,” Satan; and Matthew relates how Satan once offered Jesus the kingdoms of this world.

To Steal, Kill, and Destroy
Out of Daniel’s restless mind came images of unimaginable beasts that would wreak havoc upon a decaying world. Revelation uses the same images and picks up on the very same themes.

Deceit, Betrayal, and Coming Miseries
The devil’s principal tools—deceit and betrayal—were first noted in the Garden of Eden. We look at Jesus’ agony and betrayal—also in a garden—and the flurry of miseries that will be unleashed on this planet before the garden paradise is restored, as promised in Revelation.

Armageddon and The Final Conflict
The Bible gives ample evidence that Satan attacks individuals, and Revelation describes how his assaults culminate in the Battle of Armageddon. (The series continues into October.)

Jim asked me to join with him and use my influence in a movement against the erosion of Judeo-Christian values. We’ll congregate first on September 10 in Washington D.C., and then move to a similar event in New York City on September 11. This is something I care about strongly enough to commit my own time and money, just as you commit your time and money to support what is valuable to you. I believe Zola Levitt Ministries falls into that category. We need your prayers and cares as we stand up in a world that seems to be falling down—as did the World Trade Center Towers a decade ago.

Together we can make a difference.

We can also go together to the Land of Jesus’ birth and make a difference in your life and in the lives of the Israelis you’ll meet there. Travel with us or go with another group. But make your pilgrimage! If you’d like to come with me, rest assured that we offer guaranteed departure trips. We may still have room for last-minute pilgrims on our October tour’s motor coach. This is the final Zola Tour of the year and offers the most options for optimizing your time in the Holy Land.

P.S. I remember Jim once telling me that former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich wakes up every day and asks the question: “What can I do today to help save Western civilization?” I was impressed. The question comes to the forefront again, through this subtle assault on Judeo-Christian civilization.
