The Jewish roots of Christianity

Highlighting: OFF ON

Dear Friends,

God must have chuckled on November 5 when He saw me read that Israel, after two years, halted its Iran attack alert. Some would-be Holy Land pilgrims had feared nuclear retaliation enough to stay Stateside. Meanwhile, toward the end of October, I was savoring Israeli breakfasts with Fall Tour pilgrims who praised their travel experiences at our festive farewell dinner. In addition, I interviewed Israel-based representatives from several worthy sister organizations. You’ll soon see those interviews on our TV program.

Now that Israel is more relaxed than in recent years, please consider joining our March, June, or October tours. For dates and details regarding tour extensions to Petra and Greece, including a Mediterranean cruise, visit www.levitt.com/tours or contact Tracie at or (214) 696-9760. My newest read on the Apple of God’s Eye is the Israeli sense of vibrant peace and relevance. You don’t belong anywhere else when you’re in the Land of the Bible.

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, Rejoice.” This mighty verse from Philippians 4:4 brought to mind the hymn “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” the morning after the recent national election. For a magnificent rendition of this ageless hymn, see http://wp.me/pieUD-1uG.

Many of us are distraught with what lies ahead for our country. In fact, several ballot outcomes indicate a national deviation from God’s path. But rather than lament the past or worry about the future—which God will use to His advantage—we Believers must follow His instructions regarding the eternal choices of His children. “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof” (Matt. 6:34). This biblical outlook is far more important than short-term, earthly hurdles such as political outcomes. It is still time to “let go and let God” help us create a fertile field for His primary task of revealing Himself to ALL His children. (Matt. 28:16–20)

Egypt Jesus Movement!

Speaking of which, during the first weekend in October, 10,000 young people gathered in the Egyptian desert 60 miles north of Cairo to sing, pray, and worship our Lord. A subsequent “Count It Right” rally drew 45,000 people, thousands of whom gave their lives over to Jesus. Hundreds of buses brought attendees of all ages to focus on the message of salvation. PTL!

Those who are concerned about how to adapt and thrive in the days ahead might consider attending the Future Congress Conference in Dallas this January 4–6 and/or subscribing to their pending online broadcasts or DVD mailings. Myles and Katharine Weiss will be there, teaching about the Jewish Feasts and revitalizing your marriage. Hal Lindsey and Bill Koenig are slated to address cutting-edge prophetic and social developments. You also can learn how to prepare your family and household for environmental, economic, and apocalyptic upheaval. For details, visit http://FutureCongress.com/ or call 877-887-0222.

As you may recall, Zola Levitt Presents airtime on ABC Family recently moved to 5:30 a.m. on both coasts, 4:30 Central Time, and depending on which station you watch, either 6:30 or 3:30 a.m. Mountain Time. During December, please plan to watch the programs described below as we begin an updated presentation of our series The Stones Cry Out and pause at intervals to explain Hanukkah and review the year’s events:

Tourists in Jerusalem descend into the tunnel
under the western edge of the Temple Mount

In recent decades, many marvelous, new archaeological discoveries have greatly illuminated and validated the biblical record. In order to film the archaeological sites and interview the experts, Zola Levitt, Thomas McCall, and the production crew of Zola Levitt Presents journeyed to Israel and Jordan. We found that, just as our Lord said about this remarkable Land, indeed: The Stones Cry Out. (Luke 19:40)

Myles and Katharine Weiss host this encore presentation, examining the archaeological discoveries that shed light on the Bible.

The Tunnel.
Zola takes a tour through the tunnel under the western edge of the Temple Mount. From Jerusalem, we get a journalist’s perspective of the Palestinian uproar that occurred when the tunnel was opened to the public in September 1996.

Artist’s rendition of the original Robinson’s Arch at the Temple site in Jerusalem
Tale of Two Temples.
We sort through the ruins of Robinson’s Arch (above) in Jerusalem, then head north to Mount Gerizim to the excavation of a Samaritan temple patterned after the Jerusalem Temple.
Rulers in Stone.
Many first-century finds are being unearthed at Caesarea, an ancient city on Israel’s Mediterranean coast. The first extra-biblical reference to Pontius Pilate was found there, as well as a full-size Temple replica. At Tel Dan in northern Israel, the “House of David” has been confirmed archaeologically. We also discover there an altar with metal shovels.
The Feast of Lights.
Myles and Katharine present Hanukkah, which begins at sundown on December 8. This Jewish Feast harks back to when an anti- Semitic dictator threatened to wipe out the Hebrews. But the Lord’s Deliverer arose, lit the lamp of hope, and saved Israel. From generation to generation, Jews have lit lamps in their homes to commemorate the victory and retell the story of The Feast of Lights.
Highlights of 2012.
Myles and Katharine offer nuggets from the original television series presented during the year, including The Holy Days of Our Lord, Acts: Then and Now … The Story Continues, Ruth: Your People Shall Be My People, and Abraham: Father of Faith. We also offer morsels from the special guest interviews and significant events that occurred in 2012.

Our new year of TV broadcasts will conclude the Stones Cry Out series, shed fresh light on the Feast of Passover, and lead into the sequel to our Father of Faith series about Abraham. That brand new set of programs, Sons of Promise, will present Isaac and Jacob as never seen before.

No contributions, please, if …. If you’re struggling to put food on the table or if Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc on your household, please take a break from supporting this outreach until the Lord leads otherwise. On the other hand, whatever funds you CAN earmark for charitable giving now, including God’s work, will impact our ability to minister in the months ahead as we catch up on our sizeable bills and draft our TV production budget for the new year.

Our president’s administration exclaims, “The best is yet to come!” Thank God their prognosis will prove truer than they imagine when our Messiah returns and Raptures His children. Let us Rejoice with gladness in our hearts, especially when it makes sense to do nothing but.

And remember, “Sha’alu Shalom Yerushalayim … Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem!” (Psalm 122:6)

In His service,
Mark

P.S. Our ministry has had its own superstorms this year. We said goodbye to ION, which became too secular for us to retain sufficient viewership. More recently, INSP network began broadcasting less-religious programming, which never helps promote God’s work.

Pray that our loyal viewers continue to find Zola Levitt Presents and subscribe to the Levitt Letter. Please invite friends and acquaintances to visit www.levitt.com and get on board with our work. If you will support our ministerial efforts as generously as you can, we’ll do our level best to deliver a bountiful harvest of souls led to the Lord, enlightened about Israel, and appreciative of Christianity’s Jewish roots. Please stay with us, and we’ll keep up the good fight.

“Quick! I need some more charitable donations!”
(Remember … salvation is free.)
