Notes from the Webmaster about Zola's 2006 battle with cancer

More test results

On Thursday, March 30, Zola was evaluated to see how he did with the radiation and chemotherapy. I’m afraid the results were not too good. The treatments did greatly help the cancer in the lungs and brain but his liver has deteriorated, so I don’t think they’re really concerned with the other things anymore. The prognosis is now set at six to eight weeks.

I’m sorry about having to give this bad news. The good part about this is that liver failure is more gentle than sucumbing to lung cancer. Zola no longer has to be afraid of not being able to take a breath, etc. near the end.

Certainly, no one is ruling out a miracle, though. Zola did say last Friday that if he were to receive a miracle, it would be a big one, because this isn’t just back pain he’s suffering from. On the other hand, though, we don’t want to go against God’s wishes, and maybe it is His will that Zola join him to help welcome people into His kingdom. Maybe God needs some more Levites on His staff.

I say this because, though I don’t know a lot about cancer, Zola’s experience with it has been pretty mild so far. So maybe that right there is our answer to our prayers. If Zola isn’t healed, it certainly won’t be from a lack of prayer. So the only alternative is that this is God’s will.

Zola has access to supplemental oxygen if he were to need it, but it doesn’t seem to help right now. He also has a patch to deliver pain medicine and that has helped a great deal. He’s not in pain, exactly, but he doesn’t feel good and is tired a lot. The patch has helped with that. He has spoken with hospice workers about care that may be necessary down the road. He is now using a walker around the house to keep him steady. So everything necessary is being done.

One thing to remember also, is that the TV shows you see of him talking about his illness were filmed about a month earlier. On days when he feels well enough, he continues to film TV shows. There will come a point where he looks good on TV but is not well in real life. Just something to be prepared for. I will try to keep you updated here.

Dear Brother Zola, Thank you for imparting your love for the Chosen People and Israel, to the believers. Your life has been so rich and full and you have been and continue to be, used mightily of the Lord. It is a joy to watch your steadfast faith grow even stronger during your time of illness. We know the Lord can heal you, on the spot, if He chooses. We serve a mighty God. You are a blessing to us and we are praying for you and your family. We love you. Laurie and Bob Ps. 119: 111, 112…Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. (You are a living example of that!) My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end. AMEN!

You will be so greatly missed here. However, I think of the overwhelming joy and glory you will experience……..Oh! to be in His Wondrous Presence….I joy in the knowledge that we are in the last of the last days so that we no longer will have to endure separation from loved ones……….no longer endure pain and suffering. I believe it won’t be that long before we are all in His Glorious Presence……..You are a great blessing to the Body…………

I have enjoyed your teachings for years. I rush home after Wednesday Night Prayer meeting to watch your program. If I could reach up and grab a miracle, I would give it to you. May God provide you with “enough” for each day.

You are so very loved….SO very loved. Jesus, our precious LORD and ONLY Savior also loves you more than we could ever love you. You have worked so very hard for Him. You have honored Him in life and He is now honoring you. We do, however, firmly believe in Jesus’ ever-present healing power and prayers continue for you to be completely healed on this side of Glory and restored completely to divine health. “Cancer” is but a name….BUT THERE IS A NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES…JESUS!….and He still heals, Brother. You have taught us all so very much about our LORD and you are continueing to teach us about Him in this trial by fire in your own life. You are an ever-faithful friend of our LORD and an ever-faithful servant of The Most High God. Thank you and I love you.

Dear Zola, I cannot believe you are leaving us when we need what you say & believe so badly. Of course, if the Lord calls you, what an honor. I have many tapes, VCR’s & have just ordered more. I will miss your program. You have so many great people on your show. May your program continue even if you are in heaven with the Lord. Thank you for your years of service, & for giving us so much. Thanks for the wonderful views of Israel. How I would have loved to go with your tour to Israel. Thank you for all your work. I know it wasn’t work, especially when it’s for the Lord. We will all miss you, but not as much as your dear wife, & family. Thanks again for giving us the glimpses of the Holy Land and of our Lord’s teaching. I shall be praying for you. Would that I had your skill. Thanks again. Carol

I also have cancer in my left lung that has spread to my bones. I am praying some how that I could get the finances to go to Israel. I also pray for my own healing as I have 5 boys with 3 of them ages 13, 11, and 10 and I want to be completely healed to stay here and raise them and i also have a wonderful husband for 25 years and he wants me to live and be healed also. I pray for you and that you would also be fully restored, Amen! I just recently started watching your program and find it very interesting and I learn so much of the history of the church. Thank you for all your hard work. God Bless. Bobbie Klaine
