A Message From Zola

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2005

Dear friends,

I really appreciated the prayers, cards and letters. My recover has had one or two setbacks, probably due to age and the fact of a previous bypass, but on the whole I’m doing very well.

I’m walking fine and exercising every day, I wrote the September Personal Letter and edited the Levitt Letter, so I guess you could say I’m back at my post. I sure watch a lot of TV and get in a lot of chair-time but I’m learning a lot from watching various news broadcasts. Please know that I feel a significant improvement each day and I’m told that my recovery is normal.

Thank you for the prayers, the good wishes and the extra support that you’re giving us. I really appreciate it all.

Your messenger,
Zola

Zola is walking by himself and working a bit

Friday, August 12th, 2005

Although he feels a bit like he has been run over by a truck, Zola is walking by himself and eating well. He starts physical therapy today.

And Zola is working again! He says the Lord has given him several tasks to do. He has dictated a chapter for a book and material for the Levitt Letter.

Zola said to tell you how much he appreciates the prayers and comments. He said he knew he had a lot of supporters but didn’t know he had that many friends.

Zola’s Home!

Tuesday, August 9th, 2005

They got home around noon today (Tuesday, August 9). He had something to eat and then got some rest. He is very happy to be home.

Zola should be released Tuesday

Monday, August 8th, 2005

If all goes well, Zola will be released from the hospital at 8:30 am on Tuesday. He did very well today. Sandra is still a bit nervous about it all but they are in God’s hands.

Zola’s Liver Looks OK

Sunday, August 7th, 2005

The Liver doctor says nothing showed up in the sonogram. He just
thinks Zola’s body is responding to the operation and there’s no problem.

Zola is Looking Good

Sunday, August 7th, 2005

Sandra says Zola is looking good and “giving the nurses a run for their money.” They send their thanks to everyone for their prayers.

They are still waiting on a liver test, but the doctors think it will ok. The latest hospital departure date estimate is Monday.

They are now looking at Monday as a possible departure day from the hospital.

A Few Bumps in the Road

Saturday, August 6th, 2005

“We are having a few bumps in the road,” Zola’s doctor says. All normal, but still bumps. Zola’s liver count is not right, so they will do a test this morning. They are not overly worried, but they just want to check it out. Sandra says she’s worried enough for everyone. She also says praying really helps. Thanks to all those praying out there!

Still in the Hospital for a few more days

Thursday, August 4th, 2005

Zola has had a few setbacks but nothing much to worry about. His heart is still doing well. They drained some fluid off his right lung, which also drained him of energy. But he is doing well and the doctors are very encouraged.

They are targeting for Saturday or Sunday as a possible release date, but naturally, that’s a hard thing to predict right now.

August 2 update

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005

Here’s an update today from Zola’s wife, Sandra:

He had a very good day today. He walked up and down the hall twice, so far. He should walk once more. And he felt good! Praise God. We are feeling the prayers.

Still in the Hospital

Monday, August 1st, 2005

Zola will probably not be released to go home until after Thursday, August 4. His strength remains good but they want to keep an eye on him a bit longer. Please continue praying for his speedy recovery.
